Nice starter guide, lots of ideas. I want to make nice houses but my brain fixates on minimum requirements way too much. Maybe if I focus on maximums it will push my builds out. I recently had a 2 thick wall and noticed how much better it looked to my usual 1 thin walls but then ended up with 1 thin walls... I do already use support beams but usually for boxes on stilts!

No matter what I do tools will literally only place dirt blocks and nothing else. Can't even place walls, no matter what's selected.

Swap out all the biome chest loot eg, Evil chest now has Rainbow Gun, Hallowed Chest now has Knives/Scourge.

This happened to me with a geyser instead of a chest when I was digging down to the underworld

Some of my favorite building material combinations: ashwood and smooth granite, boreal and marble, boreal and gray bricks, living wood and stone slabs. Also, if you want to make paths between your houses, it's a good idea to use a bunch of different stone (stone blocks, gray bricks, stone slabs is what I use) and hammer them to give a weathered look if that's what you're going for. Also always look into modded materials if you're playing mods. Some great calamity building materials are things like voidstone, brimstone slag, and astral monolith.

I mean this is in some ways hard to follow as stuff like placing a singular wall block aren't explained and how to get each block is also not explained like the castle battlements I can't make cause I don't get that division you have between block types it all molds together unless you are using walls as the 'accent block' but it would help to use direct block types instead of your own name for it based off the usage so someone not in-tune with the community lingo can follow.
